CARCINOMA of the large bowel is a serious problem. In the year 1935 in Ulster alone, with a population of 1,2871,0(0, there were over 1,600 deaths from cancer, and( of this numbersomne seven-teen to twenty per cent. belonged to the large bowel. 'I he figures shoul(l probably be higlher. Cases are certified as carcinioma of the stomach, intestinal ol)struLctioi, cardiac failure, etc., whichl are in realitv carcinoma of the large gtlt.
